Axiology Organic Lipstick

By September 29, 2015 Beauty, Blog

Axiology is a cosmetics brand with a bold, refreshing take on beauty: we believe that kissable lips and sustainability are both sexy in equal measure—and that nobody needs to sacrifice kindness for a night on the town (or a daytime picnic!).

I’m  here for that. I am here for anything that is going to make my quality of life healthier, better, and look good while feeling good. Axiology Organic Lipstick brings it all together for us.

My cousin Ericka launched this amazing line of organic lipsticks, and not only are they absolutely safe, don’t test on animals, and use responsible packaging, and the colors look good on ANY and ALL skin tones. Super important. Like…super, super important. If you log on to the AxiologyBeauty website, you can see all skin tones reflected, and the formula is moisturizing and flattering for all of us. Again. SUPER, super important.

This fall, I am obsessing over everything neutral. It’s trendy, it’s trending, and its everywhere. I have 2 lipstick colors that will last me this season (and probably all the way in through Spring). The first one is for daytime, and it’s called The Goodness. It is a matte neutral. I will be posting a bunch of photos on my Instagram account during the week so be sure to follow me there for my mini microblogging posts.

The second shade I have is called Infinite. It is a deep neutral red. Or in other words, SLAY 2015.

I’m all about that perfect red….but this season, again, I’m super feeling the neutral and earth tones, and my reds will also be in that palate. This is definitely a night out lipstick, and I will be giving it a trial run this weekend…on date night! Again, be sure to follow for microblog updates on my SylFabulous Instagram account. I will be posting all week.

After checking out the lipstick page, I notice that they have some colors that are all the rage right now – and I am putting the hot pink Noble, the coral Virtue and the peachy pink Philosophy on my to -do list for the Spring and summer months.

Now, let’s talk about price points. Sure, its on the higher end of the lipstick spectrum, BUT here’s why. First of all, you can put Axiology on the same level as Dior, Louboutin and Chanel…but, and here’s the kicker,

1, it’s full of organic and safe ingredients like mango butter,  coconut oil, avocado oil, natural pigments and other awesome ingredients like essential oils : grape seed oil,  sweet orange oil.

2. The packaging is recycled, ethical and sustainable.

3. There’s no crazy chemicals in the pigment or packaging

4. They are cruelty-free which means they don’t test on animals

5. Vegan

6. Handcrafted and ethical.

From the Axiology website:

Our products are as good for the body as they are for the planet because we’ve completely nixed chemicals and synthetics from our formula. Instead, we carefully craft from a harmonious blend of natural and organic ingredients. The result? Earth-based tones that dazzle on every skin type and complexion, with a burst of vibrancy that lasts all day.

Packaging With a Purpose: Axiology’s lipstick boxes were sourced in Bali, Indonesia, when founder Ericka Rodriguez was visiting the stunning island. Ericka discovered a boutique recycled paper store, and after being impressed and moved by their women-run operation, decided to work with them on packaging.
The paper used in our boxes is collected from all around the island—from hotels, offices and households—and is taken to a small factory. It’s then boiled down to a pulp, laid out to the sun to dry, and finally folded and decorated by hand.

The gift inherent in these boxes is that their production helps trash reduction on the island, a growing concern as its population and popularity continues to rise.

We at Axiology rejoice that our packaging matches the integrity and intentions behind our product, and our company’s philosophy.

Axiology is committed to supporting the earth and the animals that make it glorious. That’s why Axiology is partnering with organizations that heal the planet and save our wild animals. We are committed to donating 6%  of our 2015 profits to the Orangutan Foundation International. For more information on our partnership, refer to the “Our Partners” section down below.

we believe in love

We believe in a world where using an everyday luxury like lipstick doesn’t include polluting the planet, hurting its beings, or ingesting harmful chemicals through our skin.

We believe in creating a product from the purest ingredients available—so we can provide a brilliant end-result and support the courageous farmers who produce our raw materials.

We believe that love is integrity in action—and we let it guide our business.

we believe in truth

We believe in being conscientious about how our products are crafted, and in making an honest effort to source all of our ingredients from nature.

We believe that truth is a vital aspect of integrity, and that words such as “ethically sourced” and “all natural ingredients” are fundamental practices, not convenient marketing language.

We believe that our honesty earns our customers’ trust. We value that trust implicitly.

we believe in beauty

We believe this precious Earth is stunning—and we strive to add to that beauty with conscious actions.

We believe that our customers deserve to feel beautiful while also feeling ethical about their cosmetics choices.

We believe that real beauty is just that:
real ingredients, real people, real intentions.

Meet Ericka – She’s FABULOUS, and not just because she is my youngest cousin!

Ericka Rodriguez Founder of Axiology Beauty

Ericka’s holistic and vegan lifestyle emerged in her early twenties. She became dedicated to creating raw vegan smoothies and natural beauty recipes. Once she realized that natural compounds were rarely used in her favorite beauty product—lipstick—she decided to get in her kitchen and give it a go.

The result became a labor of love and passion-project, Axiology. Combining her commitment to fruitarianism and healthier, safer cosmetics, Ericka spent over a year testing ingredients and concocting the perfect formula for Axiology’s lipstick line.

Her journey took her all the way from Brooklyn, New York, to Bali, Indonesia to study ingredients and packaging options. Along the way she crafted a product that serves kind, vivacious women everywhere who want to look glamorous while giving back.
